Swingset Mamas
The Swingset Mamas are notorious for taking the rhythms and realities of everyday life and playfully weaving them into songs for both kids and parents alike. Their fun, catchy tunes range from reggae to zydeco, blues to hip-hop, folk and more.
Songs from this first album were inspired by the birth of the Mamas’ (Lizzie and Marlowe) firstborn babies. Their songs tap into the most fundamental joys and struggles of parenthood and children with songs such as a bluesy When Daddy Comes Home and a Calypso-infused Colors of the Rainbow.
My personal favorite is track 5, Little Lila – a sweet song written for & about Mama Marlowe’s daughter, Lila who has Autism.
