We have found that children
with special needs benefit the most from a yoga program. Our integrated approach
addresses the physical, social-emotional and learning strengths and challenges
of the whole child. NGY’s therapeutic yoga program supports a child’s
natural development and positive sense of self in a gentle, safe and fun environment.

NGY teachers are experienced in yoga therapy with children of varying
special needs, including those with Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism,
Pervasive Developmental Delays, Attention Deficit Disorders, and more.
Private sessions and/or inclusion-based classes are determined
by your child's age, cognitive and motor abilities. In either setting, poses
may be done with assistance by a NGY teacher or
parent, or by the child independently. It is our goal to mainstream your child
into an inclusion-based group yoga class when he or she is ready.
We recognize that
children with special needs often have multiple therapies, therefore, no matter
what your child’s needs are, we propose one ultimate goal: FUN!
An initial consultation is necessary in order to design a program that is specific
for your child. Contact us at 212-595-9306 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will suggest,
prior to starting a yoga program, that you consult your pediatrician. Feel free
to ask us to speak with your doctor if you prefer.
